Support Services
Striving for continual support
DAD events offer connection and community through the shared enthusiasm for motoring. We create spaces where conversations about mental health are normalised and participants can discuss their experiences, connect with likeminded others, and find pathways to support.
Fundamental to our purpose is the recognition that the pathway to help can be different for everyone, and it can take more than one attempt to find the right fit. Mental wellness practitioners in attendance at our events offer practical advice for maintaining mental health, and break down barriers for discussion about accessing additional services when mental wellness is in decline.
While DAD events put us on the road to impactful mental health conversations, they aren’t the destination. Our intention is for participants to continue their conversations with a mental health professional in a personalised setting where the can access direct and ongoing support.
Funds raised for DAD help us build our panel of referral practitioners through the Mental Wellness Network, and with growth comes wider opportunities to provide access to services for our community.
In addition to building DAD’s Mental Wellness Network, we offer the following services as suggested starting points for continuing mental health conversations after our drives:
Therapy Partner:
Talked
Talked is an Australian-owned and operated online therapy platform that connects qualified Aussie therapists and counsellors with those who need them 24/7. Those who are eligible can also use the Talked therapy sessions with Medicare rebates and NDIS programs.
DAD’s mission has always been to start the conversation and promote positive mental wellness at our events and through our community channels. Thanks to Talked, we can now confidently provide the next step to anyone in the DAD community that wishes to work on their mental wellness with a professional.
As a part of the DAD partnership with Talked, the DAD community receives 10% off their first therapy session by using the code “DRIVE10” after conducting their free 15 minute session with the therapist or counsellor of choice.
